Breastmilk – it’s truly liquid gold. So many woman are misinformed about the importance of breastfeeding by doctors and nurses who are clueless about this vital subject. Just like vaccination – we need to make an informed decision about breastfeeding and not leave it up to the so-called ‘experts’ who have no training or interest in knowing more about the differences between breastfeeding and ABM (Artificial Breast Milk).
As Hilary Butler shows – not only can breastfeeding help make babies healthier, it can also potentially assist in protecting babies from the harmful effects of vaccines.
Of course good nutrition for the mother to replenish nutrients is essential, though can you comment on the effect to the breast of infant feeding? Here in Asia I hear that many mothers do not breast feed because of the emaciating effects on tissues and glands. Can you comment on that, please?
Hi David,
I am not an expert on these issues by any means, but it is my understanding that when a woman breastfeeds, if her nutritional status is not good, her baby will be getting the nutrients and they will be taken directly from her which can lead to a malnourished mother and a well-nourished baby. Instead of using that as a reason to discourage breastfeeding which is absolutely essential to both maternal and infant health however, countries should ensure that nursing mothers are supported with good food and clean water. So much money is wasted on things like vaccination and drugs when the same money can be put to much better use ensuring that all women can breastfeed. Were the latter done, the need for the former would be virtually nonexistent.
